Kubota Brabender Technologie partners with companies in countries where it does not have its own branch or subsidiary. It has had a successful, trust-based relationship with Milan-based family business De Amici for more than 30 years.

The beginnings of the partnership

Established family business, De Amici, has represented the Duisburg-based company since 1990. “We partnered with another manufacturer for many years,” founder Alberto de Amici recalls. “But following a change of ownership, we decided to look for a new partner – one with a global reputation but not yet represented in Italy. Kubota Brabender Technologie fitted the bill exactly and was interested in launching its products in the Italian market.”

30-year partnership

Both companies embarked on a successful journey and the partnership has grown and prospered for nearly 30 years now. As the representative of Kubota Brabender Technologie, De Amici operates mainly in the plastics and rubber industry, and has some additional market share in the food, pharmaceuticals and chemicals sectors. “We always try to track new technologies as they evolve and therefore we are always tackling new and interesting projects,” says General Manager Elena de Amici. “That’s why we were the first company in Italy to provide feeding plant and equipment for the bio-plastics industry in the 1990s.”

The Italian market is still characterized by a traditional structure with many small privately owned companies. They appreciate a close working relationship and regular contact. Elena de Amici continues: “We visit our customers regularly and in addition to keeping prearranged appointments, we also pop in and say hello to other customers in the area. We firmly believe that listening is the most effective strategy for delivering success.”

They offer us tailor-made solutions.” Elena de Amici has identified many similarities between the two companies: “We have a very similar philosophy - you don’t need to be the biggest to be the best.
